Historic Lakeside Haveli
Kankarwa Haveli is a 17th-century mansion on the eastern banks of Lake Pichola in Udaipur's old city. Originally the urban residence of the Rajput Kankarwa family, it features traditional Rajasthani architecture with courtyards, bougainvillea-covered walls, and direct lake access. The reception is staffed by Janardan Singh, who assists with local travel tips.
Unique Heritage Rooms
The haveli has 16 rooms, each with distinct layouts, hand-picked furnishings, and en-suite bathrooms (24-hour hot water, some with tubs). Deluxe suites face Lake Pichola; standard rooms overlook the courtyard. No TVs or phones are provided to maintain the historic ambiance. Rooms include seating areas, electric kettles, and wine/champagne.
Rooftop Dining
Breakfast is served on the rooftop with views of the Aravalli Mountains. The vegetarian kitchen (eggs permitted) prepares daily-changing thalis for lunch (1 PM-2:30 PM) and dinner (8 PM-9 PM). No room service is available. Guests can use a library and lakeside alcoves for reading or meditation.
Old City Access
The haveli is at Lal Ghat, a 5-minute walk from Jagdish Temple and City Palace. Maharana Pratap Airport is 25 km away (35-minute drive). Auto-rickshaws reach the bus/rail stations in 10 minutes. Paid parking is available nearby. Boats for lake tours dock steps from the property.
